BitMine Immersion Technologies just grabbed another 10,399 ETH. The NYSE-listed firm, ticker BMNR, has been methodically stockpiling Ethereum since June 2025, and this purchase pushes its total past 5.79 million coins. That's roughly 4.8% of Ethereum's entire circulating supply.

The company calls the play "Alchemy of 5%," a systematic campaign to own a full 5% of all ETH in circulation. Earlier purchases included batches of 9,946 ETH, 27,801 ETH, and 35,138 ETH. Each week brings a new acquisition, no drama, just capital deployed.

How they're funding the accumulation

Tom Lee, Fundstrat co-founder and chairman of BitMine, has been the architect here. To bankroll the buying spree, the company raised $274 million through preferred stock offerings in early June specifically for Ethereum purchases. That's not a casual allocation. It signals serious conviction about the asset class and the long game ahead.

What makes this strategy particularly aggressive: BitMine has already staked over 4.9 million of its ETH holdings on its proprietary MAVAN platform, generating projected staking rewards in the hundreds of millions annually. With nearly 5% of total supply under one roof and most of it actively staked, the company's decisions about when to stake, unstake, or sell could meaningfully affect network dynamics. Other corporate holders have been more selective with their crypto bets, but BitMine is betting big on Ethereum specifically.

The strategy has worked in institutional terms. BMNR earned inclusion in indices like the Russell 1000, reflecting its growing market cap and relevance to large-cap portfolios. Investors watching this should note one thing: independent verification of BitMine's asset metrics hasn't surfaced in major crypto media yet. For an accumulation strategy this size, audited custody reports and on-chain verification would provide real confidence in the numbers before treating them as final.
