Bitget recently unveiled its Stocks 2.0 platform, allowing cryptocurrency users to trade over 10,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs directly from a unified account. This innovation seeks to eliminate the previous obstacles that crypto enthusiasts faced when trying to invest in U.S. equities, which often required engaging with local brokers and navigating complex banking procedures.
The new trading ecosystem is designed to enhance user experience by providing multiple avenues for investing in U.S. markets. Users can trade through tokenized stock products, stock options, and direct stock purchases. This approach not only improves liquidity and transparency but also capitalizes on the efficiency of tokenized equity trading.
Among the key features of Bitget Stocks 2.0 is the assurance of real ownership of U.S. shares, which are executed through licensed brokers. This allows eligible users to purchase equities using stablecoins like USDC and USDT, thus minimizing reliance on traditional fiat systems. Furthermore, the platform supports fractional share purchases, making high-value stocks more accessible. Users can buy as little as 0.0001 of a share, opening up opportunities for small-scale investors.
In addition, Bitget offers a broker-grade trading experience, complete with real-time market data and extended trading hours, enhancing users’ ability to make informed decisions. Eligible users may also benefit from dividends and corporate actions, such as stock splits, which will be reflected in their holdings.
Notably, on July 2, Bitget became the pioneering crypto exchange to introduce U.S. stock options. These options provide users with the right, but not the obligation, to purchase a specified number of shares at a predetermined price in the future. This development is expected to attract more crypto investors looking to diversify their portfolios with traditional assets.
The launch of Bitget Stocks 2.0 represents a significant step towards merging the worlds of cryptocurrency and traditional stock trading, reflecting a growing trend of cross-market investments. As more crypto exchanges explore similar offerings, the landscape of investment is likely to evolve, allowing for greater flexibility and access for global investors.
