Bitget Introduces First US Stock Options Trading in Crypto Sector

Bitget, the leading Universal Exchange (UEX), has announced the launch of US stock options, enabling users to trade options tied to major US-listed companies. This initiative positions Bitget as the only significant cryptocurrency exchange offering US stock options alongside its crypto and CFD markets, which include gold, forex, commodities, and indices.

Available Trading Features

The platform now supports trading strategies such as long calls and long puts for eligible users. Long calls enable traders to adopt a bullish stance on a stock, while long puts allow for bearish strategies or mitigating downside risk. Risk for buyers is confined to the premium paid, although options may expire worthless if anticipated price movements fail to materialize.

Expansion of Product Offering

The addition of stock options broadens Bitget’s stock product range, which previously included tokenized stocks and pre-IPO access to private market investments. The Stock+ offering now incorporates widely recognized Wall Street instruments, afording traders enhanced capabilities to navigate market trends, earnings cycles, and portfolio risk. This step aligns with Bitget’s commitment to merging various asset classes—crypto, stocks, and commodities—into a cohesive trading environment for a global audience.

Market Demand and Future Plans

The demand for listed options is notable, with the US options market executing over 15.2 billion contracts in 2025, averaging about 60 million contracts daily. This surge signifies a growing trend among retail and institutional traders engaged in directional trading, hedging, and managing capital. Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, stated, "We have consistently moved first to connect stock opportunities with our users. This has been rewarding to us and users alike. From tokenized stocks to now options, we are executing on convergence."

The initial offering focuses on single-leg options, designed to simplify access for users. Future updates are expected to introduce additional functionalities, including advanced multi-leg strategies. To celebrate the launch, users who execute their first US stock options trade may be eligible to receive $15 worth of NVIDIA stock, contingent upon the terms of the campaign and their location.

It is important to note that trading options carries significant risks and may not be ideal for all participants. Availability of products, qualifying securities, and promotional offerings may differ by jurisdiction, and users should consult relevant product disclosures to comprehend potential losses.
