Anthropic has officially introduced Ode, a new AI implementation venture valued at $1.5 billion, backed by significant investments from Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs, among others.

The inception of Ode stems from the acquisition of Fractional AI, an AI consulting startup, in May 2026. The company comprises a specialized team of 100 engineers committed to the "Claude-first" strategy, which favors Anthropic's technology while remaining open to competitors as needed.

Ode aims to directly enhance client operations by embedding engineering teams that create tailored AI solutions. Chris Taylor, the CEO, emphasizes that clients will ideally have CEO-level engagement, ensuring the AI projects align with top corporate priorities.

The venture positions itself as a direct competitor to OpenAI’s Deployment Company and established consulting firms such as Deloitte and Accenture. Financial contributors to Ode also include General Atlantic, Apollo Global Management, and Sequoia Capital.

Ode’s strategy focuses on identifying business opportunities where AI can provide the most value, collaborating closely with Anthropic’s applicable AI division. With the backing of private equity partners, Ode is likely to channel various subsidiary companies toward innovative AI projects.
